The agents moved to production and governance was left behind. With 72% of agent-based AI in production and 40% of enterprise applications incorporating agents by year-end, the dominant risk is no longer being left out—it’s entering without control. Agent governance is the new cybersecurity.
The adoption-value gap is the real battlefield. 78% is being adopted, while 74% is not scaling up. In Latin America, 95% is being piloted, and less than 25% is being implemented on an industrial scale. Smart money in 2026 won’t go toward more pilot projects—it will go toward integration, data, and change management.
